You will find us outside of The Circuit Gym NE, 410 NE 17th Ave, Portland, OR 97232 on December 3rd, 2011 from 930pm-12am slingin’ tacos with smiles!!

Last Friday we were blessed with sunny skies and a ton of mango deliciousness at D-Street Noshery on SE 32nd & Division. The National Mango Board got together with KOi and Addy’s Sandwich Bar for a hometown mango taste-off! Not only was there a cook-off between the two food carts, but our entire food cart pod took part with their own mango specials for the day! What a great way to welcome the summer and introduce a refreshingly tasty and tart fruit to our seasonal menus, don’t you think?

In the end, judges chose our Mango Halibut Tacos as the winner and chef Bo Kwon was blessed with a rockin’ chef hat! We had a blast … be sure to check out the rest of the photos here, taken by the talented Josh Seaman.

The Mango Hometown Tour is coming to Portland … today! Fri., June 17, Addy Bittner of Addy’s Sandwich Bar and our very own Bo Kwon of Koi Fusion will compete in the Ultimate Mango Taste-Off, courtesy of the National Mango Board. The chefs will pay homage to Portland’s burgeoning food truck scene by creating a recipe featuring mangos. Bo has created his own niche of fusion using secret family marinades and fresh vegetables, while Addy is known for her European-style sandwiches made with all-natural, organic and locally sourced products when available. Join the fun to taste each chef’s creation and see whose dish best highlights mango goodness and captures Portland’s local flair. The National Mango Board and Fred Meyer will also have mango treats and surprises along the way!

Visit D-Street Noshery (SE 32nd & Division) today from 3:30-5pm for the Mango Taste-Off. KOi will be releasing a taste test of our Halibut Korean Fish Tacos! Many of our cart friends in the pod will also have their own delectable mango specials! Read more here.

Last weekend we cruised out to Pacific City as part of the 2nd Annual Joy Ride for the Children’s Cancer Association! They raised $25,000 in support of the Caring Cabin at Pacific City, where seriously ill kids and their family can escape to get away from all the craziness. Here’s us servin’ up our k’rittos to over 160 Harley riders and enthusiasts! Thanks Mike and Cheryl of Paradise Harley-Davidson in Tigard for having us out again for the 2nd time. Here we are at Adidas HQ in Portland serving over 300 meals to hungry employees!

The Montavillage Fair is a family-friendly event designed to build community connections within the southeast Portland neighborhood.  This year’s event will have several community art projects, including mosaic tiling by Vibe of Portland and portrait painting organized by local artists. Many other artists, vendors, and businesses from the community, including Milepost 5, will be onsite. There will also be a bouncy castle and an obstacle course sponsored by Cascade Athletic Club. The event will feature live music by local Portland groups, including headliner Old Light. Koi Fusion and Domo Dogs food carts and Hot Lips soda will be on hand to help satisfy everyone’s appetite. The event is free and all attendees receive a free raffle ticket for prizes donated by local businesses.
